Growing up on a stud/equestrian Centre owned and operated by my family I had a lot of opportunity to free range through the bush. We lived out of town so my entertainment came through exploring the outdoors with my older brother and animals. We had many near misses and learned at an early age how to manage risks and get help when we needed it. I had my first pony before I could walk and started Pony Club by the age of 4. My family were engaged in many recreational groups that gave us opportunities to try a range of sports and leisure activities. I loved the water as well as the bush and have always been drawn to activities involving both. My early start to Pony Club and water-skiing saw me being involved in coaching roles by my early teens. My love of teaching and being engaged with adult adaptive riding groups, empowering clients has developed a driving love and joy in working towards owning my own wellness and growth center. To achieve this I have completed a Bachelor in Counselling and Coaching, a Diploma of Social Science (Disabilities) and a Diploma of Animal Assisted Therapies. A Certificate in Horse Industry Operations and some eclectic training through department of education and social services in-house training.
For far too long I lived with a not good enough narrative. This developed as a result of various experiences, judgments, mindsets and societal views. These faulty Narratives were challenged through the practices of mindfulness, journaling and artistic expression. Using an eclectic range of tools such as practicing gratitude and a goal setting focus. I have developed skills to provide balance to my life while giving back to my family and community in wholehearted ways.
Flying Changes Development Coaching (FCDC) will offer me the balance to provide quality counselling, coaching and clinics all while still being able to provide home-schooling activities for community and my own children. I am raised up by the people around me that lean into the challenges of life with honesty and vulnerability. I look forward to sharing and engaging with everyone that I meet through the services provided by FCDC.
